Here are some cool keychains made from a design that resembles a cute alien. To make this fun project, I will be using my trusty laser cutter and the Sanguinololu driver. Materials: Laser Cutter: Any laser cutter should work just fine, as long as it is powerful enough to cut through the 3mm acrylic. If you do not have access to a laser cutter, there are other methods of cutting your own shapes. Sanguinololu Driver: This tiny Arduino-like device can connect right into your computer via USB and communicate with any 32-bit controller that has an SPI interface. Instructions: 1. Cut the top surface out using a sharp tool, like scissors or a craft knife. Be careful not to press too hard as you will only damage your machine. 2. Now take some small amount of water and add a drop or two to your water container, depending on how dry it feels. Turn on the driver so that both axes move towards each other (you can also hold them in place with small pieces of tape) 3. Take out all screws using a 5/32 hex key then separate it from your machine base. It's much simpler to get at these bolts this way, but they're very difficult to put back. 4. Place the cut piece onto a non-stick surface, preferably a countertop or a smooth cutting board. Turn off both the top and bottom heat and let cool completely for 1 hour or until warm to touch before putting back into its protective covering. 5. Once cooled turn it back around and use one screw at a time starting from bottom then middle then the top - do not remove all yet! Then, use that little device (usually hidden under where you put them earlier), just stick your end in and gently tap the little switch while holding everything else steady...
