Wanted a pencil case that would accommodate General brand charcoal pencils of every kind without fail. It had to be long enough for travel, fitting comfortably inside a loaded backpack without causing any damage. Most importantly, it had to minimize the risk of being pierced by pencils in an accident, a genuine fear given my love for riding motorcycles.
