Pencil and Pen Holder

thingiverse

This innovative tool for organizing classrooms and offices opens doors of creativity to students and workers alike, making storage of writing utensils a breeze. The Pencil/Pen Holder was designed using 3D Builder, Microsoft's default 3D design software. To create this object, I employed tools such as Scale, Group, Rotate, Move, and several others in 3D Builder. Measurements from pencils and pens were taken to determine the optimal size for the container. The project, "Organization of Space," aims to help students design an efficient method for storing classroom supplies, including pencils, pens, glue sticks, scissors, and more. This project is best suited for early middle school environments where students are naturally curious about science and technology. Students should have a basic understanding of their chosen 3D design software and have prior experience with printing at least one object. To begin, they will be divided into groups of two or three to brainstorm ideas for objects that can enhance classroom organization. With ample time (at least a week), students will collaborate, design, and print their creations. The final projects will be placed around the classroom, allowing more students to interact with these innovative tools. Students are encouraged to think creatively and design something functional, such as a glue stick holder. While creativity is essential, teamwork skills will also be assessed, with grades reflecting collaboration rather than the final project's quality – ultimately, this decision rests with the teacher.
