You've recently ventured into winding coils for devices like metal detectors, discovering that some are simple while others can be maddeningly intricate. Working directly off the spool proved challenging; luckily, you found a repurposed old pen after 20 minutes. The pen wire guide STL includes support material to aid with tapering ends. Your magnet wire collection comprises two types: one stout and short (50mm spool, 40mm diameter), the other longer (45mm spool, 60mm height). To use the pen guide, follow these steps: 1) Print the pen wire guide; 2) remove support material; 3) disassemble a pen, retaining only the casing; 4) thread the wire through the guide and pen; 5) place the spool on the holder; 6) start coil winding. Optionally, cut a sponge piece to fit inside the pen with a channel for the wire, adding friction during loading.
