I discovered that placing all pens at the same height proved to be quite challenging for achieving consistent multi-colored drawings. These small washers allow you to position each pen at the precise height required for your specific drawing surface. There's a 5mm and a 1mm washer, and it's likely that a 10mm version could also be useful since multiple washers are often needed. The inner diameter of this washer is set to 10.2mm in order to leave room for the wall thickness while still providing a 10mm ID. Most Sharpies are close to 10mm in size, but their dimensions can vary slightly. Printing off a batch of these washers will enable you to align all your pens at a consistent height for any project, resulting in remarkably good alignment since the pens are positioned at very consistent heights.
