Most of our pen holders won't hold permanent markers (or toothbrushes) so we decided to remedy that. The bottom "receptacle" is about 0.75" and the top is about 0.83"... by accident. (The top was supposed to be smaller than the bottom, you know, to make it a little "grippy", but we weren't paying attention, so there's this until we rework the design.) Seems to print pretty well with no supports, but we'll spin a new one with thicker (and fewer) uprights, maybe that merge into each other for a bit more support.
