Pen & Pencil Holder

Pen & Pencil Holder

My 3D printer took 17 hours to produce this at an incredibly fine layer height of 0.200 mm. This design is a fantastic test for stringing issues - if your printer can print this model with remarkably few or no strings across the holes, you're in great shape. I utilized the WeaverBird add-on to Grasshopper to create this intricate design (which explains why the STL file is named wb3). The part boasts a circular top and bottom, but its middle section features an impressive 7-sided equilateral polygon. This model serves as a rigorous test for slicers - Simplify3D added unnecessary solid fill layers in several areas, so I didn't even bother attempting to print that version. Kisslicer sliced it adequately, yet the final result was marred by a plethora of strings, both across the holes and along the interior diameter. Craftware, however, produced an outstanding result; it generated minimal strings that were easily eliminated with a hair dryer.
