This design is based on theorbtwo's marker holder but includes an open structure without fastening requirements. It effectively colors a 3mm filament feed stock rapidly with a few swipes using a fine point sharpie marker. The round hole prints horizontally, and although it may need minimal cleaning post-printing, it has worked well in the three instances tried. The plastic tip of the marker fits snugly into the small hole with 1mm protruding, creating gaps on either side for filament placement near the center of the marker tip. For optimal color saturation, multiple passes may be needed front and back, which is easy by shifting the filament to the opposite gap. Adjustments to parameters such as penbase, pentol, pentip, and pentiplen might be necessary depending on marker or filament size variations.
