Pen holder
thingiverse
Introducing my first creation: a Moleskine pen holder, designed for convenient sketching. In search of a notepad, I found an old one buried in my backpack and paired it with my favorite pen. However, keeping them together was challenging until I crafted this solution. During the design process, I initially attempted a perfect geometric structure but soon realized it wasn't practical. After several revisions, I achieved a printable design using Blender's proportional edit tool and a modified Skeinforge profile for flexibility. A raft was necessary to prevent the model from detaching during printing. This pen holder can be customized to fit various notepads and pens. To modify it, open the blend file, switch to edit mode, turn off shading, use the 'b' key to box-select components, and move them with 'g' while constraining an axis. The original model is also provided in a deactivated layer without the mirror modifier applied for easier editing.
