The X Wing Fighter Pen is a custom-designed stationary holder that utilizes standard BIC pen refills. To ensure proper fitment, a test file is included, which represents the tip of the pen. Printing this file and testing it on a refill will allow you to adjust the scale as needed until a perfect fit is achieved. All subsequent parts should be printed at this adjusted scale. For myself, the current design is ideal. The X Wing Fighter Pen features a slot at its rear for housing scissors if desired. Additionally, the canopy can be detached to accommodate paper clips or pins within the relatively compact scissor compartment. The pens clip onto the wings, with caps provided to conceal their functionality as writing instruments. While not entirely faithful to authentic X-Wing design, some creative liberties were taken to make the pen functional. To print the X Wing Fighter Pen, you will need to create four separate units. The canopy was printed with supports inserted into its roof section to prevent warping and ensure proper slicing. In contrast, the pens were printed flat using build plate supports.
