Pen Holder 20 (or toothbrush!)

thingiverse

Most of our pen holders are too small for a permanent marker or a toothbrush, so we figured we'd remedy. This spiky little guy will hold most standard permanent markers and toothbrushes, and still hold a skinnier pen. The bottom hole is about 0.75" in diameter, the top "hole" is closer to 0.83"ish. That was actually an accident; we'd meant the top to be smaller, but weren't paying attention, and oopsie-daisy. It can also hold some flowers with the base used as a tiny water reservoir, but the bloom needs to be wider than the top, or have a fatty stem--the gap between each vertical doodad is about 0.17-0.18" so really skinny stuff will flop right out. We'll spin another version with a narrower top as was originally intended, and maybe put a bit more flourish in the uprights. But we mostly like it anyway. It prints pretty well without any supports, and depending on your printer, may or may not require much cleanup. On our Ultimaker S5 there was the normal sundry filing but nothing major; our MakerGear M3 fared a little less well--we'll also consider a version with fatter and fewer uprights, maybe joining at the top to make it a little sturdier as well.
