The ketch-rigged sailboat Pen Duick II, captained by Eric Tabarly, secured victory in The Transat race of 1964. Named after the original Pen Duick crafted in 1898 by Scotland's Fife shipyards, its design is derived from Gilles Costantini's Tarann series; specifically, Margilic V, which served as a training vessel for Tabarly in 1963.
