This casing fits snugly around an existing pen, secured by a screw-on cap that attaches firmly to the body. How I Conceived This Design I designed this project with precision in mind, teaching essential skills like measurement and model-making. The process also involves working with extrusions, a valuable experience for designers. Objective This project caters to beginners and intermediate designers, requiring minimal skill to execute. Audience The project is geared towards designers who are familiar with Inventor or similar software, as well as those with access to a 3D printer. Preparation To complete this project, one needs a basic understanding of Inventor and access to a 3D printer. Steps to Achieve Success Firstly, the pen body is crafted as a hollow tube, complete with threads on both internal and external ends. Secondly, the tip is designed as a cone shape, with an inner cavity and a hollow cylinder featuring threaded sections that allow for screw-on attachment. Thirdly, the end of the pen is created as a rounded cylinder, complemented by a hollow cylinder with threaded sections to facilitate secure attachment. Lastly, the cap is fashioned as a hollow cylinder with a rounded tip, incorporating a threaded interior to ensure a snug fit onto the pen body. Results Upon completion, you'll have a functional pen with a screw-on cap that attaches securely at the end.
