pen box art nouveau
myminifactory
This is a unique pen box with a cover featuring an original art nouveau design inspired by the style. The design was not copied from any existing work, but rather created from scratch. The pen box consists of three 3D printed parts: the cover, the insert, and the main box itself. To print the cover without support, I placed it upside down with the hollow side facing upwards. This allowed for a smooth finish on the exterior surface. For the insert, I utilized the raft feature to ensure proper adhesion during printing. A different color was chosen for the insert to differentiate it from the rest of the design. The main box is simple and unadorned, providing a clean contrast to the more intricate cover. To fit the insert into the cover's grooves, some adjustments were necessary. I cleaned and fine-tuned both the insert parts and the cover grooves using a small knife and fine-grit sandpaper where possible. Once adjusted, I glued the insert parts to the cover, completing the assembly process. The pen box in the attached images was printed on an Anycubic I3 Mega with a 0.3 mm layer height setting. This design originated from Fusion 360 software, which facilitated its creation. Please note that this pen box was initially designed for holding pens and pencils, but it has also proven to be suitable for storing eyeglasses due to its precise fit.
