Pen Block

Pen Block

This design is based on "The Block" and "The Cube" from [Dudek Modern Goods](https://www.dudekmoderngoods.com). I have a couple of these pieces from his store and needed more storage and decided that since I have a 3D printer, I'd make something similar to what I already have. Please support DMG by joining his batch list and picking up one of his blocks when they become available. These print pretty easily with a level bed but do take some time. You can play with the infill slightly, but I wouldn't go lower than 5%; otherwise, the top layer might have bridging issues. Consider too that less infill means less weight. I prefer the blocks to have some weight but didn't want them to take two days printing, so I landed at 10%. I printed with only a skirt, but a raft or brim would also help if you have bed adhesion issues. A couple of other settings I would recommend: - Combing: Even with a perfectly level bed, I'd still get a small amount of stringing in the pen holes, especially if I printed with PETG or PLA+Wood. Turning this on prevents the nozzle from passing over the holes and greatly reduces the stringing. - Ironing: Completely optional, but can add a nice surface layer to the top of the block with the sacrifice of additional print time and a bit more material. I was able to print these with various materials, colors, and textures. PLA obviously worked best, but PLA+Wood also turned out nice but required cleaning.
