Pelvic bone
thingiverse
This is a highly detailed 1:1 scale model of the pelvic bone. It originates from the Body Parts 3D Database at http://lifesciencedb.jp/bp3d/?lng=en, which is a comprehensive database of 3D anatomical structure data funded by NIH. According to their white paper (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2686534/), the models were created from high-resolution MRI images taken at 2 mm intervals of a male volunteer's body. I made some adjustments using Meshmixer, rotating it for optimal balance between quality and structural integrity. Large features on the bone are easily recognizable, but smaller details may not be visible when viewed closely. These models can be printed with ease on standard 3D printers measuring 8" x 8" x 8" or 200mm x 200mm x 200mm in size.
