During Museomix (http://www.museomix.org/en/), I participated in creating interactive museum exhibits by helping run a fab lab. A team requested a scale Pelton Turbine wheel replica, so I designed it using Fusion and created layout drawings with Inventor. To convert the solid buckets into plywood form, I utilized 123D Make, but had to use Rhino to fix the inch-based output issue in our version of 123D Make. The Chinese laser cutter software lacked proper scaling tools, so I had to make do with what was available. The DXF files for key components are provided, along with notes on required numbers; however, the plywood used measured at 3.2mm instead of the intended 3mm. After laser cutting and assembly (gluing buckets together, then nailing using guide holes in wheels), the replica was complete.
