Pehr Henrik Ling
myminifactory
In 1813, Ling established The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH. His goal was to train teachers for schools and prepare them for the army. The Napoleonic Wars and Sweden's loss of Finland created a strong desire to protect national autonomy. Ling drew inspiration from "the spirit of freedom of the ancient Geats". He wrote about the ancient Norse people and believed that physical education could strengthen both the nation and its citizens. Ling's physical exercise program gained popularity in Sweden and spread internationally. He also developed physiotherapy techniques and created classical Swedish massage methods. 3D scans were created using an Artec Eva, with the aim of producing a digital representation as accurate as possible to the original. However, these presented scans are not exact duplicates due to inaccessible areas or deviations from the original that may have occurred.
