Pegboard spool Holder
thingiverse
This is a 1 piece spool holder for standard 1kg spools. It utilizes injection molded pegboard hooks, which provide more strength than printed hooks and fit standard pegboards with 1/4 inch holes on 1 inch centers. The design intent here is to insert the hooks from the bottom, where they will be wedged in place so they don't fall out. There's a small sacrificial bridge near the base of the slot, which makes sure the slot doesn't deform during printing and eliminates the need for slicer generated supports. Snip it off after printing. The hooks can be purchased on Amazon for under 10 dollars, QTY 50. The hook can also be downloaded from Thingiverse, where I modeled it off the hook from Amazon. I printed this spool holder on a QIDI X-Plus (FlashForge clone) using various brands of PLA. I sliced it in QIDI's Cura clone software with the part oriented so the flattest face is on the print bed. The post processing video shows how the hook is inserted, and a down-and-dirty stress test of the part when installed on pegboard.
