Pegboard Spool Holder, reinforced, with bearings
thingiverse
Remix of Quartz Workshop's pegboard (~27mm on center) spool holder redesign showcases enhanced structural integrity. The original design was compromised at the upper hooks, prompting reinforcement with a thicker plate to prevent breakage. Additionally, excessive spool drag caused by a full spool of filament resulted in underextrusion issues, necessitating the addition of bearing slots for smoother operation. This modified spool holder accommodates 3x standard skateboard (608) bearings, which provide a snug press fit that can be achieved with a bench vise as a makeshift bearing press. Once installed, the bearings spin freely without hindrance. When inserting upper pins into the pegboard, caution is advised to avoid breakage; however, once securely in place, they can support a 1Kg spool with ease and stability.
