Pegboard Spacers

Human: Pegboard spacers mount a pegboard securely to the wall by providing evenly spaced points for screw attachment. Place them approximately 12 inches apart, ensuring stable support for the board. The spacers feature an outside diameter of about three-quarters inch, with equal height and a sixteenth-inch inside diameter. The pictures depict slightly larger dimensions, as they didn't require additional size. To install: follow these steps for optimal results. First, mark an X over every 12 holes by drawing lines between four adjacent holes in the first row. Then move across to the next row, working down. This system allows you to drill new holes without using existing ones for mounting. Position the pegboard at its intended location and start by drilling a screw into one of the marked X's. Use a level to ensure straight alignment and then drill another screw over an X on the opposite side. Secure the board with these initial screws before proceeding. Next, remove the pegboard and switch to a drywall anchor drill bit to re-drill each hole. Insert the anchors into their respective holes, creating a secure base for mounting. Apply hot glue to one side of a spacer, spreading it evenly over the hole to hold the screw in place. Place each screw through the front of the pegboard and attach the spacer to its backside, securing both with the screw. Repeat this process for all spacers. Finally, align the screws with their corresponding drywall anchors and partially tighten them until they fit snugly into their holes. Then, fully secure the screws in place. If mounting multiple boards, use existing pegboard hooks to maintain proper distance and alignment between adjacent boards, marking edges for easy reference. With these steps complete, enjoy your newly installed pegboard system!
