Pegboard Jig

Pegboard Jig

thingiverse

This is a pegboard jig that enables accurate drilling of standard metric pegboard sizes into material with 6mm diameter holes spaced at 25mm. It makes an effective tool for creating pegboards from scrap or other materials where pegboards are not readily available. ### How to use 1. For the first four starter holes, clamp the jig to your material and place it with guide nubs facing up. Ensure the jig is square with your material and guide the drill bit through channels to drill starting holes. 2. Flip the jig over and insert guide nubs into holes you just drilled. Drill out the next set of holes. 3. Repeat step 2 until you reach the end of your material, rotating the jig 90 degrees to guide the next two rows of holes. ### Some notes - Due to printer tolerances, you may struggle fitting guide nubs into holes. This is solved by heating nubs with a heat gun and pressing them into holes. Repeat this process until nubs deform enough for easy sliding in and out of holes. - A version of the jig has cavities for captive washers (6mm inner diameter, 12mm outer diameter, up to 1.5mm height). These washers reinforce guide channels, maintaining integrity as the jig's material wears down over time. To insert washers, pause print at the layer prior to the washer's cavity becoming enclosed. If you don't want to use washers, use the 'no washers' STL.
