Many high-end Trek bikes come equipped with the Bontrager Torqkey, a precision torque wrench set to 5Nm featuring a permanently attached 4mm hex bit. This versatile tool has numerous applications on bicycles, making it beneficial to keep nearby. The device in question is a simple pegboard mount for the Torqkey. The illustration accompanying this text does not show the glued-in 4mm hex bit that comes with the Torqkey. If you possess one and wish to utilize different bits, apply heat from a gun to warm the area holding the 4mm hex bit; it should then be possible to remove the bit. Clean out as much of the adhesive residue as feasible, and you'll have a 5Nm preset torque wrench compatible with any 1/4" drive hex bit. However, one issue arises: these bits won't remain in place on their own. To resolve this problem, I utilized a 6mm drill bit to carefully clear out some of the built-up glue within the Torqkey's end, then inserted six 3mm rare earth magnets until they reached the optimal height for securely holding a bit. Initially, I contemplated gluing them in place, but their snug fit ensures they won't become dislodged.
