Solo Noble, alternatively recognized as Peg Solitaire or Brainvita, particularly in India, is a single-player board game where players move pegs on a board with holes. Some sets use marbles and indentations. In the UK, it's simply called Solitaire, while card games are known as Patience. The game can be traced back to Louis XIV's court, specifically in 1697, through an engraving of Anne de Rohan-Chabot, Princess of Soubise, with the puzzle by her side. The August 1697 edition of French literary magazine Mercure galant features a description of the board, rules, and sample problems - the game's first known print reference. The standard game involves filling the board with pegs, excluding the central hole, and players aim to empty the board while making valid moves, leaving only one solitary peg in the center.
