Peg
thingiverse
Assembling the hilt components requires a peg that fits perfectly. To achieve this without an 8mm glassfiber rod, simply print multiple pegs with the same specifications to assemble and test the fit of the hilt components. Although these printed pegs won't be as durable as their glassfiber counterparts, they'll still get the job done. Instead of a traditional chamfer, I've opted for a guiding segment with a slightly smaller diameter on both ends. The idea behind this design is to prevent the peg from getting stuck at an angle due to the chamfer. By making the guiding portion longer than its diameter, it's more likely that the peg will be guided straight into place.
