PEEP Valve with 22mm outlet
thingiverse
This is a Positive End Expiratory Pressure valve designed for use with an emergency COVID-19 ventilator developed by http://ventilatorcrowd.org. To function as a ventilator, a Bag-Valve-Mask device requires a small positive pressure of between 5-20 mm H2O during the exhale cycle to keep lungs inflated. Please adapt this initial prototype for your application, noting that it has not been tested or approved. If used, you must verify its functionality and safety. The design is unexplored regarding optimal materials for approval and adhesives for part assembly. The prototype was printed in clear PETG. The valve consists of four key components: a 22mm and 30mm coupler version, exhaust port, cap, and valve disc. Required additional parts include an o-ring to seal the cap, spring with a 0.043 N/mm spring constant, 32mm length unloaded, and 13-14mm diameter, as well as a silicone disc, 0.5-1mm thick, cut round to match the size of the valve disc. The design is optimized for minimal support in printing, with only two small overhangs that should require no additional supports. Set support for angles greater than 75 degrees for optimal results. This model was created using the academic version of Autocad Inventor and includes model files; however, note that they will be watermarked if used commercially.
