Pedestrian reflector pendants
thingiverse
I've bought reflective sticker tape from eBay, and I've decided to make some pedestrian reflector pendants to hand out to my neighbors when they're walking in low-visibility areas. In the suburb where we live, people walk on streets with car traffic. As a driver, I'm always terrified to spot someone walking near me, especially if they blend in with their surroundings. Drivers often rely on visible pedestrians to stay safe on the road. That's not always possible. I thought that attaching some reflective material would be an excellent solution to this problem. That's why I've invested in reflective sticker tape. I plan to give it away for free to my neighbors if I see them walking on the street at night and dressed in clothing that makes them nearly invisible to drivers. To produce these pendants, I'm using a 3D printer. The settings are as follows: - Printer: Mamba3D - Rafts: Not required - Supports: None needed - Resolution: 0.295mm - Infill: 10% Here's a note to keep in mind while printing: it's a good idea to add Mickey Mouse ear extensions to ensure that the pendant adheres well to the print bed, especially at the corners. These can be removed once printed. I purchased this reflective tape from eBay through this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291556990772?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT For anyone who needs the stl file without extensions, it's available for use. I ordered 5 cm (2") wide reflective sticker tape in a six-sided honeycomb design.
