Pedestal for sphere-shaped object
thingiverse
I built a pedestal for my Bennu asteroid, designed to hold any spheroid object roughly 130mm in diameter. Although it can be scaled up, I haven't tested its limits yet. The pedestal requires six M3x10 hex socket bolts, but they're purely cosmetic. You can view my Bennu asteroid on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3568256 I secured the pedestal with Crazy Glue (Cyanoacrylate). To achieve a rusted effect: 1. Start by applying White primer spray paint. 2. Follow up with Gunmetal spray paint. 3. Add a touch of Sculpt Nouveau Iron B Metal Coating. 4. Use Model Masters Blue Patina Aging Solution and Model Masters Green Patina Aging Solution to create depth. 5. Finish off with a clear coat, then install the screws.
