Peco ST5/6 turnout insert
thingiverse
This is a simple insert that reduces the flange depth through the frog of Peco's N scale code 80 "Set track" turnouts (catalog numbers ST5 and ST6) to eliminate wheel drop at the frog gap. There are two files, one with a single 0.5 mm thick insert and another that includes thicknesses of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, and 0.75 mm. Either file will work for both RH and LH turnouts. It should print well vertically (pointed up) with just two supports, one under each leg. Use the thickest insert that doesn't cause stalling by lifting the drivers off the rail. The newer edition of the ST5/6 seems to have a shallower flange and may only need the 0.2 mm insert. Older versions may need as thick as 0.5 mm. I made the 0.75 mm thick insert for a single "basket case" turnout on my layout. If yours needs one this thick, you might be better off replacing the turnout!
