Pebble Watch Strap - Interconnected Links
thingiverse
I've been wearing my Pebble watch with the Snap Link Watchband, designed by mingofmongo, and it's great. However, after using this watchband for several months, I noticed two problems with the Snap Link design: a) The watchband is not very flexible because the links are pressed together, and b) after several months of use, the spikes connecting the links become weaker, occasionally causing the links to disconnect. This new design offers solutions to both issues. The links are printed already interconnected so they can never be detached unless they're broken. The interconnect mechanism leaves gaps between the links, resulting in a strap that's much less rigid and more flowing, as seen in this video: https://youtu.be/MeGG3K9NP6Y I've uploaded an STL file of a single link to explain the interconnection mechanism, which was designed using Sketchup. I published a link for the original Sketchup files. Print settings: Printer brand: RepRap Printer model: Home Made Prusa I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 40% Notes: The interconnected links include bridges of about 2 cm, printed using ABS.
