Pebble Steel Charge Dock

I designed a custom charge dock specifically for my Pebble Steel watch. Using 123D Design, I created four different designs before finalizing this one and tested two oblong blocks to determine the best way to subtractively manufacture the charge connector cavity. The result was nearly flawless! To use it, you simply slide the standard Pebble charge connector into the dock from the bottom, angle it in place through the cable gap, pull it outwards, and orient the connector at the bottom of the dock before sliding it into position. I added an extra lengthwise gap to accommodate angling the connector for a secure fit. So far, I've experienced zero scratching on the watch as it slides in or out, but if you're concerned, lining the inside with soft felt glued in place is a simple solution. If I were to revise this design, I'd add a 'light pipe' to illuminate the charging LED, but since most watch face apps display a charge indicator, this isn't a significant issue. An interesting bonus feature is that you can wrap the entire charging cable into the dock's gap when the watch is not in place, keeping it securely stored. In future designs, I might consider adding a slot for the USB connector on the outer edge to enhance portability. Overall, I'm thrilled with this 3D printed design and excited about the possibilities - 3D printing has hooked me for life!
