Peace Stone - Cup & Ring Marked Stone

The stone stands tall near Malling Farm, situated on the Western edge of the Lake of Menteith. It boasts an impressive array of 22 distinct cup marks arranged around a network of intricate rings, curved lines, and grooves that were once more visible when first documented at the end of the 19th century through photographs and sketches. Unfortunately, the stone has suffered significant abuse since then, having been relocated, damaged, and eroded to the point where its complex patterns are now barely discernible in the field. Today, it lies neglected amongst other field clearance boulders within a bracken-infested strip enclosed by an old wall and a modern high stock/deer-proof fence. Fortunately, 3D modeling techniques can still reveal some degree of the stone's former intricate surface decoration.
