Since I want to give my nephew something truly special for Christmas, I thought he could really appreciate a "mini ghetto blaster". Because there wasn't anything like Thinkiverse out there, I sat down and pieced together the perfect gift. Meanwhile, I've got several versions of it here. You can just choose the one that you like best. Version 1 comes with a built-in battery pack that's powered by a 12V li-ion battery. Version 2 uses AA batteries instead. The current status of the project is: waiting for all the ordered parts to arrive. Here are the parts I'll need to print: Main case: 5-15% infill, 0.2mm layer - it's good to go! Front plate: 15% infill, 0.1-0.15mm layer + support - perfect! Back cover: 5-15% infill, 0.2mm layer - all set! Back cover for battery version: 20% infill, 0.2mm layer + support - done! Grid 1-3: 100% infill, 0.1mm layer + support - ready to go! Grid v2: 100% infill, 0.1mm layer - all set! Handle.stl: 50% infill, 0.2mm layer - good to go! Handle belt holder: 100% infill, 0.1mm layer - perfect! VolKnob.stl: 80-100% infill, 0.2mm layer - ready to rock! Here are the non-printed parts I'll need: Speaker broadband: 2x 50mm, 10W, 4ohm - check out https://goo.gl/PRKcwU or https://goo.gl/PYiFfh On/off switch: 10pcs - get them from https://goo.gl/htsDiu Battery + power supply or battery holder: check out https://goo.gl/PhahMV, https://goo.gl/UDsV4C, or use 3x 18650 Li-ion batteries for a cheaper option. Amplifier: 2x10W PAM8610 Stereo Class D - grab them from https://goo.gl/sdbuZX Antenna: 25.4cm, 5 sections - get yours from https://goo.gl/kbzG8J Led version: 3mm, 10pcs - check out https://goo.gl/Thpe7u Led: 3mm, 100pcs - grab them from https://goo.gl/mv6Sn1 DC plug installation: 5.5-2.1mm, 5pcs - get yours from https://goo.gl/PXB7NU MP3 / Bluetooth / USB player: check out https://goo.gl/6EQAGG or https://goo.gl/ZzjhQZ Here are the additional parts I'll need: * A 20cm piece of 2x0.5mm cable for the speakers * Acoustic wadding or similar to insulate the housing * Screws: metric 8x M3x10-25mm + nuts and washers (for mounting the speakers) * Screws: metric 5x M5x10-25mm (for the lid) * Screws for plastic joint countersunk: 2x approx 3x10 (for the player) - make sure to pre-drill the holes! * Plastic adhesive (Uhu Allplast) * Soldering iron and solder * Shrink tubing or insulation tape The project is still a work in progress, but it's coming along nicely. If you want to give me a donation for this work, I'd be very happy about it. Here are the changes I've made so far: 09-11-17: Front plate new designed for better print quality 10-11-17: Front plate testprint was okay, but not perfect, corner adapted to improve haptics 10-11-17: Handle v3 testprint was okay, but it needs more infill - I've increased it to 40% 12-11-17: Main case update: added holes for a screw to fix the handle 13-11-17: Main case update: bass reflector tubes for better bass performance 13-11-17: Added main case battery version and matching rear panel and lid 14-11-17: Update Handle v3, take holes for screws, Update Maincase v2. Best results are with 50% infill. 15-11-17: Grid v3 added 15-11-17: Cover for the battery version added - place for switch charging or not to make charging off if you use normal batteries or akkus
