pdp-11 knob
thingiverse
These retro computing knobs closely replicate the style of those found on the PDP-11/70 front console, also lending themselves well to other projects. They feature an indentation and line that can be filled with paint for enhanced visual indication of knob direction. Designed to fit snugly onto a 6mm D-shaped rotary encoder shaft, the code allows for easy modification if a round shaft is desired instead. A hole for a setscrew is also provided, which can be tapped into place as needed. The existing shaft dimensions are a precise friction fit on my encoders, eliminating any need for additional adjustments. By adjusting the settings in the scad file, the knob can be scaled down to approximately 80% or up to an unspecified percentage.
