Pd Message Box (Type 1)
thingiverse
Introducing a customizable Pd message box designed for the pd-LAunch event, a Los Angeles-based patching circle focused on languages like Pure Data and Max/MSP. The OpenSCAD script and STL come with a default "bang" message, essential for making things happen in Pd. We also considered name badges for participants; however, the box's size adjustment for longer messages is still under development. Fine details may not show up on certain 3D printers like MakerBot, but text size adjustments can help improve readability. This design is labeled as type 1, with two more variations in progress. It proved to be a great hand-out during the event. To customize the message box, ensure all .scad files are in the same folder and modify the string and length in pd_message_box_type1.scad file before rendering. Additionally, use TBUSER's bitmap font (bitmap_2011-04.scad for older OpenSCAD versions) if necessary.
