PCB Workstation Remix - Easy print Needle Arm REMIX
thingiverse
Thanks to Giuseppe Finizia (giufini) for perfecting this design. This is going to come in very handy for me to solder small boards and flash them easily with new firmware. This is my main goal. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3615910 I redesigned the needle holder arms to be a 2-piece design to make printing easier. I also changed the angle of the needle to approx 15 slope as I feel this will make connections a little easier. I have yet to test my theory. Now, the "handle" pivoting base part is the only part requiring supports. I recommend printing the BASE upside down (top surface on pint bed) and I would imagine a glass print surface would make the base very shiny and look awesome. For the Needle Holder, (2 parts) I printed the 1st layer @ 0.20 and layer height set to 0.12 just for the needle. Be sure to print slow and you'll get a nice tight fit that really works. For the Base/all other pieces I printed at 0.28 (using Cheps profiles for the Ender 3) When the needle holder is finished, I set it upright on my desk, and I used an exacto knife to make sure the needle clamp was open. Since I added heat shrink to my needles, I also enlarged the holes/opening to clamp nicely. It took a little effort to squeeze the needle in but gripped very nicely once inserted. I used a little CA glue to secure the needle holder 2 parts together, and the needle holder to the horizontal bar. I redesigned using TinkerCAD, and I definitely lose some of the refinement of the original part :) It is a very small part and functionality//ease of print was my only target. I hope someone finds this remix usefull
