PCB Vise - Drive Screw with Flat Sides
thingiverse
I've always struggled with printing the drive screw for my 3D printed PCB vise, and I think it's because I'm printing vertically - the gear suffers severe delamination and breaks during post-processing or assembly of the vise. Printing horizontally never works out either, due to the drive screw being round which means that during printing the bottom layer doesn't stick well at all. I decided to use Netfabb Basic (client edition) to cut the sides flat on the threaded rod (drive screw). This allows for better print bed adhesion, less sagging and a much stronger print. Minimal post-processing is required, and the end result is a smoother, stronger drive screw.
