PCB Vise - Drive Screw with Flat Sides

I always struggled with printing the drive screw for my 3D printed PCB vise. No matter how hard I tried, the gear would come out severely delaminated and break during post-processing or assembly of the vise. Printing vertically was a no-go because the gear would suffer from severe delamination before it even finished printing. On the other hand, printing horizontally was also a problem due to the round shape of the drive screw, which caused the bottom layers to stick poorly to the print bed. I finally decided to use Netfabb Basic (client edition) to cut the sides flat on the threaded rod (drive screw). By doing so, I achieved better print bed adhesion, less sagging and a much stronger print. Minimal post-processing is required now, resulting in a smoother and stronger drive screw overall.
