<p>A standoff to mount a small electronic circuit board (PCB) on a mechanical carrier board, such as plywood.</p> <p>The standoff clips into a hole in the board. A screw goes through its top that keeps the PCB in place. If the screw is long enough to<br/> reach into the standoff's foot, it spreads the foot apart, and anchors the standoff firmly on the board. If you expect only light loads, you can use short screws. The standoff holds fairly well on its own.</p> <p>Many aspects of the standoff are parameterized. The tested dimensions are:</p> <p>Height above the board: 5 mm<br/> Screw diameter: 2.2 mm<br/> Total length: 17 mm</p> <p>Hole diameter: 6 mm<br/> board thickness: 4 mm</p> <p>Problems:</p> <ul> <li>The standoff splits lengthwise when the screw is tightened firmly.</li> <li>Insertion forces are fairly high, pliers are usually necessary.</li> </ul> <h3>Print instructions</h3><ul> <li><p>The batch of 10 standoffs does not need a brim, however a single standoff needs a brim.</p> </li> <li><p>No supports are needed.</p> </li> <li><p>The side with the slim plastic strips is down. The strips provide contact surface with the platter, so that you don't need a brim. Additionally they hold the batch together, to keep you organized.</p> </li> </ul>
