PCB Printing
thingiverse
This prototype serves as a proof-of-concept rather than a tangible entity. Utilizing an LCD/DLP resin printer, a single-layer PCB layout is printed directly onto a copper plate, which is then etched into a fully functional printed circuit board. The PCB design necessitates several format conversions (PDF to DWG to STL). Key benefits include rapid production times for each layer, minimal modifications required for the printer itself, and reduced material needs (no photosensitive ink necessary). However, this method has its limitations: it is best suited for standard track widths but may struggle with thinner tracks due to potential overlap issues. Furthermore, the resin layer can warp significantly as it shrinks, depending on the specific resin used and curing method employed.
