This is a custom-designed parametric model for creating clip-style mounting points specifically tailored for use with printed circuit board (PCB) boards. The creative challenge was crafting a component with a sturdy flat foundation that would not readily break apart due to the natural orientation of layer formation in 3D printing. A straightforward solution lies in fabricating the base element and the standoff/clip unit as two separate entities, which then interlock seamlessly through a precise press-fit assembly (or can be glued together depending on how accurate one's dimensions are).\nThis particular design was optimized for creating simple yet effective glue-down PCB mounting clips; however, the provided Openscan code offers the flexibility to extend its functionality and generate various types of mountings.\nIt is highly recommended to use materials such as ABS or nylon (with PLA being a feasible alternative), especially when attaching these clips to project boxes made from ABS or PVC. To securely fasten them in place, using PVC glue is an excellent option for the aforementioned plastic surfaces. Metal or painted surfaces require more specialized adhesion solutions like double-sided tape or contact cement.
