PCB Mill mount for Vert-X axis
thingiverse
The vertical X-axis carriage is designed for easier PCB manufacturing on a RepRap. It allows the normal x-carriage to be detached from the linear rods, enabling the attachment of the new milling carriage for PCB and other small part milling. The design takes inspiration from Josef Průša/Greg Frost's X-end holders for better bearing grip, David Carr's Mantis 9 Low Cost Spindle v2.0, and Madkite's belt doubling system. The carriage will help address issues like using belts instead of leadscrews, wobble in the drill, X-axis wobble, and frame wobble. A cross-brace is being designed to triangulate the area where the X-axis pushes left and right. However, the motor and spindle installation should not be attempted yet, nor should PCB milling without proper testing and feedback. Any observations, comments, or suggestions are welcome.
