PCB holder alternative arm
thingiverse
I created one of pilotak's PCB holders and it has already proven to be very useful. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the arm for holding components - I found it somewhat flimsy and it had a tendency to flop around. The pad part would also frequently fall off the upper arm, but that may have been due to my printing technique! Because of this, I designed an alternative arm using OpenSCAD - it's extremely simple (and not as visually appealing) but it does share the same basic dimensions as the original. However, it is significantly thicker and therefore more rigid. I used an M4 nylon bolt, washer, and two nuts to connect the two parts, but a metal bolt and nyloc nut would probably work just as well. The pad will sit higher above the PCB in this design, so a thicker piece of foam will likely be required.
