PCB Drill Press
thingiverse
A drill press for drilling precise holes on custom PCB boards is made to fit a small drill from eBay, but it's easily modifiable to work with something else as the drill mount is a separate part. This drill comes with a power adapter that has a US power plug. UPDATE: The original drill has a really bad chuck which makes fast and accurate drilling much harder. I have installed a different one that works great. I highly recommend using this one or similar instead of the small drill, as it has a proper chuck and drilling PCB's is easy and fast. Original FreeCAD files are included, and assembly was made using the Assembly2 addon module, but all restrictions on movements aren't defined yet. Here's what you need to print: one of each printed parts except for two identical drill harnesses (40mm harnesses for the larger drill), a base to build on like a piece of wood or table surface that needs two 8mm holes 80mm apart, and other materials. The BOM includes: * Two 190mm long M8 threaded rods * Two 90mm long 8mm smooth rods * Two LM8UU linear ball bearings * One about 130mm threaded rod (handle length doesn't matter) * Fifteen M8 nuts * Four or more 8mm washers * Two compression springs with 8mm inside diameter * Two about 10mm long M3 bolts * Two or three 3mm screws to attach cover * Four 3mm screws to attach drill holders * Two 3mm bolts * Two 3mm nuts Printer settings include: * Printer brand: Ultimaker * Printer model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 20% * Notes: All parts have a flat side and no bridges, making them easy to print without supports. I printed using Ultimaker PLA.
