Note – This software works seamlessly on any Android phone. The 3D printed casing was custom designed to fit a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S7, which I had readily available. I've included the Sketchup .SKP file, along with the STL, so you're free to modify it to fit other models as needed. The cable should be a snug fit and will feed out through the back leg, keeping it well hidden from view. No rooting or special mods are required; just some straightforward software and a few settings tweaks. UPDATE - Due to popular demand, I've now included options for 1080p, 1440p, and 720p resolutions. Settings for Android phone 1) Unlock developer mode on your phone by going to Settings -> About Phone -> Build number (tap on the build number seven times to unlock developer. It will confirm with a prompt). 2) Now go into Settings -> Developer options (new menu option at bottom) and ensure the following: -"Stay Awake" set to enable - This keeps the screen on always, when the PC is on giving it charge). -Under the debugging tab, ensure "USB Debugging" is set to enabled. 3) Install "Remote Panel" by Odospace - available on playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.odospace.remotepanel&hl=en_US 4) These settings are not essential but will help things work smoothly. Settings -> Display -> Screensaver -> Set to none Settings -> Display -> Screen Timeout -> Set to 15 seconds (lowest - This is how long it will take to turn off the screen, once the PC is shutdown). I suggest setting your phone to "Flight Mode" and deleting any unnecessary applications to improve battery life. Essentially, we're hoping the phone will hold charge between each use of the PC, so you never have to turn it on. Another great idea is to set the remote panel application to the phone's desktop, making it easy to launch. You can also use an app on your phone like "AutoStart Manager", so if the phone dies, you can set it to auto-run Remote Panel on startup. Available on Google Playstore, link is here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phongphan.auto.start.manager&hl=en Settings for PC Plug your phone into any USB port on your PC using a standard data cable. Download and install Aida64 Extreme Edition - https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xe Download and install Remote Panel Server for Windows - http://apps.odospace.com/RemotePanelSetup.exe Now, go into the settings on Aida64 and set it to use your phone as an external display. File -> Preferences -> Select “LCD” from Menu on left Click on the “Odospace” tab and input the LCD Resolution “2560 x 1440” for Galaxy S7 or other 1440p devices. If you have a 1920x1080 device, input the resolution as "1920x1080" and for 720p devices, input as "1280x720" Now check “Enable Odospace LCD Support” option. Set LCD Background color to Black Go to “LCD Items” on left menu Click “Import” on top right For Galaxy S7 and 2560x1440 resolution devices, Select “PC_Stats_1440p.oslcd”, Select Apply/OK to save settings. Note - If you're using a 1920x1080 device, please use "PC_Stats_1080p.oslcd" and for 720p devices, use "PC_Stats_720p.oslcd". Go to “LCD Options” on left menu Check “Automatically cycle through LCD pages” – I've set this to 30 seconds, anything will work! This ensures it swaps between the stats page and showing the time & date. I've set it like this to prevent screen burn, as this is typical for an OLED screen over time. In Odospace app on phone, long press will bring up the menus Set “Full Screen” to enabled and “Keep Screen on” to disabled (screen will already stay on, as set in developer options. Having this disabled ensures the screen turns off with the PC) Good luck and enjoy!
