PC Monitor Fan Holder I spend a lot of time at my PC and in the summer it gets really hot, so I started looking for ways to stay cool. Commercial fans designed to keep you cool can be too forceful and too noisy, which is frustrating when they're blowing air right in your face. So, I decided to use some old case fans that I had lying around. These fans produce a gentle stream of air that's just right - not too strong or too weak. They're perfect for keeping me cool while I'm working at my PC. This project isn't a tutorial because it involves electrical components, but I used an old ATX PSU and a PWM fan controller to power the fans along with some PWM extension cables, cable ties, and self-adhesive cable tie mounts. I designed the holder around Fractal 120mm fans, but you can use most other fans as well. The hole for the fan pin is intentionally oversized to give you some extra room when lining it up. I also added a shim to the fan pin to help prevent wobble, since the holes in the actual fans are usually only 4mm. To assemble this project, you'll need four pieces: a monitor brace (I used medium "command" strips to hold it up and it's very secure), a fan holder, a fan holder pin (you can use a 3mm bolt instead of the pin if you prefer), and a hinge pin (a 5-4mm bolt works well). When printing these pieces, I recommend using 100% infill for maximum sturdiness. If you want to save some time, you might be able to get away with a lower number. To make it easier to print the fan holder, lay it on its side in your slicer and use tree supports. For the pins, try printing them in a group and using a brim - this will help prevent them from toppling over. I ran the flat fan cable down the inside of the fan bracket, so you'll see a small channel there.
