PC Fan Vertical Stand Foot
prusaprinters

Just a simple print I made when I wanted to use an old PC case fan as a soldering fume extractor. There were a bunch of big complicated prints and for the small amount of soldering I'm doing these days, I didn't want to use up that much PLA.

Instead I designed a foot that you can mount to most PC fans with the normal 5 mm case fan screw that will allow the fan to sit on it's own and vertically. It works perfect for me to suck the fumes away from my face when I'm soldering. You could attach a filter to the back of your fan or be lazy like me and just use it as is. Should fit most fans that use a 5 mm screw. I put it on an 80mm fan but I'm sure it would work with larger or slightly smaller ones. The foot is 100mm long so it should make it stable.

Obviously you need to print 2 of these (one for each corner) to make it work and as they aren't in a frame or anything they're usable on many more fans that you may have lying around versus the other fume extractors that are made for 120mm fans or whatever. If the fan you want to use has 4mm from the base of the fan to the bottom of the screw hole (or less) this should work for you. If you want to use it on a tiny fan like a 40mm, the screw hole might be too large but with a washer on a M4 bolt or something you could get it to work.

Feel free to remix or do whatever with it. Just putting it up here in case someone else could find it useful like I did.
