PC Engine Composite Adapter
thingiverse
A straightforward plan is in order for building a composite adapter for the PC Engine. The design shown here is an older version without the logo and thinner cylinders. To create this design, you'll also need an old scart to composite adapter from which the scart side has been desoldered. Note that the markings on the bottom are aligned with the circuit board on mine; however, they may not match yours. If they don't fit, simply use a hobby knife to remove them. Next, attach five female wire to pin connectors called 2.54mm dupont jumper wire connectors to the wires. Insert these connectors into the proper holes: if you're facing the PC Engine side of the adapter, that means all the holes on the right and two and three on the left. Once this is done, solder the wires to their respective positions on the composite side. Audio R is located at the top row's first pin from the right. Audio L is situated at the bottom row's first pin from the right. Audio Ground can be found at the top row's second pin from the right. Video is located at the bottom row's second pin from the left, while Video Ground is found at the bottom row's third pin from the left. After soldering, test it to ensure everything works as expected. If the markings don't match your circuit board, use a dab of hot glue to secure it in place. Once confirmed that everything functions correctly, you can wrap the excess wire around the cylinders and secure the top with hot glue.
