The Twist Lock system is designed based on commonly used twist locks and employs an original spring for locking purposes. Unlocking is facilitated by a stepper motor, set at 45 degrees for container release and 90 degrees for detaching the twist lock from the bottom of the container. Controlling four twist locks can be done using RC receivers on the same frequency. Frequency settings are stored in the stowage planning system of the ship or harbor. Since locking is achieved through springs, battery replacement is possible at any time; for improved battery life, the twist lock body ends may be machined.
