The Starforge holds a dark history as the prison created by the Watchers of Decay to keep The Elder captive within the dream world. This ancient sword was forged to sever the connection between The Elder's body and spirit, preventing its untimely demise. Centuries pass before The Elder's shade detects the presence of Valdo Caisarius, an Archon who has stumbled into the dream world. The shade befriends Valdo, instructing him in the art of reshaping reality and reassembling ancient devices. As a final test, the shade leads Valdo to its prison, pleading with him to release The Elder by removing the sword from its chest. However, Valdo refuses, narrowly escaping the dream world as The Elder unleashes its wrath. Before he could devise a plan to banish The Elder from the dream world, High Templar Venarius demands that Valdo reveal the secrets of this mystical realm. Refusing to comply, Valdo is imprisoned and publicly humiliated, with his only solace being his daughter's safety. It isn't until Venarius threatens to harm his daughter that Valdo finally yields to his demands. In just 3 hours, the Legion expansion for Path of Exile will be unleashed, bringing a new challenge to those brave enough to take on the role of an exile.
